Who we are

Lisa Mni, an enrolled Oglala Lakota comes from Agnes Red Elk from Manderson, SD and  Albert Water from Pine Ridge SD. Arlo Iron Cloud Sr. enrolled Oglala Lakota and half Diné, comes from Arlene Iron Cloud (Deal) from Toadlena NM and Richard Iron Cloud from Porcupine SD. Lisa Mni and her husband, Arlo and their children have devoted their time and energy to re-learning and re-connecting to our Natural Foods and medicines with the help of those in our community who are willing to share their knowledge through living experience. 

Lisa, Arlo and their children actively learn through trial and error and hands-on learning. The understanding they get from living experience is what they share with those who may be interested in learning about our natural foods and medicines. They promote and encourage problem solving and active learning while also addressing being forgiving of one’s self for not knowing what we may have never been taught as Lakota/Indigenous People regarding our natural foods.
